Sweetie — affectionately nicknamed “Tweet-Tweet” — is a 15-pound, 1½-year-old Chihuahua mix who came to Good Catch after her finder spotted her being chased by two large, intact males out in the country. She had been dumped while in heat, and it’s hard to imagine what might have happened if she hadn’t been rescued.
Since joining us, Sweetie has been an absolute treasure. We even considered keeping her ourselves. But after three months of loving her, vetting her, and watching her blossom, we realized she deserves a home where she can be someone’s top priority — with fewer big dogs and more hands-on attention. She’s far too affectionate and social to be just one of many.
Sweetie is wonderfully self-entertaining. Outside, she delights in chasing butterflies and shadows, basking in the sunshine, and then curling up on the couch for a nap. She’s crate trained, house trained, and leash trained. At night, she snuggles under the blankets with her foster parents, pressing gently against their legs. She enjoys many of the dogs in her foster home, though the rowdy ones make her nervous — and she’s decidedly not a fan of cats.
Sweetie is fully vetted and recently received a ProHeart 12 injection for a full year of heartworm prevention. She’s healthy, happy, and VERY treat-motivated. Bedtime is a highlight in her foster home because that’s when the special snacks appear.
This little girl will soothe your soul and make home your favorite place to be. We’re hoping to find an adopter who is home often or who has another small, gentle dog for companionship. Sweetie is independent, but she absolutely thrives on love.
We only use trusted transport partners to deliver our dogs North to their families.
