Cora was born in late February and through no fault of her own spent nearly a month in a local shelter waiting for someone to see her and save her before she finally made her way to Good Catch.
This little girl is built like a tank and her DNA results explain why. She's mostly Staffie with a healthy percentage of Boxer, making her the perfect sidekick for hikes, road trips and coffee runs.
Cora absolutely loves the water. If she's hot, she'll happily hop into one of the reservoirs we keep outside for the dogs to drink from and cool off in. She's an absolute blast outdoors and brings an energy and joy to every adventure that we didn't know we were missing. Now we can't get enough of her.
Inside, Cora has been a rock star. She's fully crate trained, sleeps soundly through the night and has never had an accident. She loves stretching out on the couch with her people but once the TV comes on she becomes convinced strangers have entered the house. She'll let everyone know with an enthusiastic bark. We think it's just one of those funny puppy quirks she'll outgrow, but fair warning, you may find yourself watching a little less TV and a little more of Miss Cora.
Outside, Cora prefers sticking close to her person. She has excellent recall and would much rather follow you around than stay outside with the other dogs, although she's made plenty of puppy friends and enjoys playing with them.
Cora is a confident pup and will do well in a home as an only dog or with a male who matches her playful energy. She can play rougher than other dogs her age, and we don't want any dogs offended if she gets too rambunctious.
She has noticed the cats and will bark at them, but she hasn't tried to chase them. If her future family has cats, we recommend giving everyone a couple of weeks to settle in before allowing unsupervised time together. Cora is incredibly smart, responds well to verbal correction and is eager to please. We think she has every chance of learning to peacefully share her home with a dog friendly cat.
Cora currently weighs 38 pounds and will likely mature around 60 pounds. She isn't overly athletic and has a wonderful balance of playful and relaxed, making her an easy fit for many different lifestyles.
This beautiful chestnut girl is fully vaccinated and is current on flea, tick and heartworm prevention.
Puppies in our care who are six months of age or older are spayed or neutered through Good Catch. For younger puppies, this responsibility falls to their adopter.
We proudly post our dogs for adoption in multiple states through Petfinder and Adopt a Pet. We work exclusively with trusted transport partners and every dog is examined by our veterinarian before departure to receive a state issued health certificate.
