Andy is a 35-pound Texas special! We believe he has a significant amount of cattle dog in him as he similar traits. He is bossy with the other dogs and wants to keep them "in line". Away from his pack of rescues, Andy is like butter. He melts into your arms and is so happy to pal alongside his person on a leash, on the couch or in the car. He enjoys being active outdoors and will settle in nicely in the afternoons for a siesta.

Andy came into our rescue so extremely underweight that we had to feed him 5-6 times a day. He'd been another castaway who was picked up off of the side of the road. He was 25 pounds and at almost 2 years old, he had no muscle tone or fat left to him.

Today, Andy is a healthy 36-pound boy! His eyes are recovering from ocular edema which was caused by being sprayed in the face by a skunk prior to him being rescued. Basically, he suffered a chemical burn, and he's seen our vets multiple times and has been treated. The recovery can take months for his eyes to clear up again. This doesn't seem to impair his vision, but we realize his cloudy eyes make him look older than he really is.

Andy is crate trained, leash trained and house trained. He loves deer antlers to chew on as well as bully sticks or treats. He's an easy-going boy when he meets new people and would do well in a home with children as he's very much a softie.

This boy didn't stand a chance without our rescue's intervention. He is now fully vetted. microchipped and has been given a Proheart12 shot for a year of heartworm prevention.

Andy deserves to know what the other side of being rescued looks like. He's tired of sharing his yard and toys with all of these dogs and he's ready to be somebody's one and only.
