Goldie came to Good Catch at the end of April after 2 months of being on the run. She and 6 of her family members including her mom, Bonnie, were dumped out in the country and left to fend for themselves. We knew Goldie was going to need time before we showed her to the adopter's world. She needed to learn to trust and gain confidence. After almost 9 months of being in foster care with 2 families, we all have agreed that Goldie is ready for her next big step in rescue: to find her a family of her own.

Goldie is 2 years old and weighs 48 pounds. We did a DNA on one of her brothers and found that they are a mix of 19 breeds with the highest percentage being Labrador. In her first foster's home of 5 weeks, Goldie lived alongside 2 of her siblings and their mom. We couldn't really see her true personality until she was moved to her current foster family where she made fast friends with their 3 kids and their 3-year-old heeler, Terry.

With months of lovin' in foster care under her belt, Goldie has absolutely blossomed! She plays with her favorite dog toys, wrestles with Terry and she lives for her leashed walks every day. A family or adopter who loves to walk or hike would be a wonderful match. This girl picked up on her foster family's routine pretty quickly and although she isn't a huge fan of being crated, she will reluctantly retire to her bed in her crate every night and sleeps soundly until the following morning.

Goldie is a sensitive dog. Fireworks, thunder and loud noises startle her and cause her to hide. She will do best in a quiet household with possibly a confident dog to share her toys with and older (or no) children. Younger kids are scary for Goldie, they move fast and to set her up for success, we look to place her in a more mature home.

This blond beauty will also require a fenced in and secure yard. While she has come miles in her skills of being a family companion, she is still learning recall and if scared, she'll be looking to hide from whatever it is that frightened her. We look for a patient adopter who will see her through to her next chapter as a rescued companion.

Goldie is great with dogs and cats. She's shy with new people, but once she trusts you, you have her commitment. She is fully vetted, microchipped and current on preventatives. She's been given a proheart 12 shot for 12 months of Heartworm prevention that will come due in May.

This beauty had a rough start with some not-so-great humans, we look forward to finding this good catch a good match!

We use trusted transport partners to deliver our dogs to their families up North.
